A New Year

A new year and things just run away from you. It’s nearly May and that means we’re nearly half way through the year. Time flies and I just have noticed that I haven’t posted in a looonnng time!

I recently received 2 Commendations for my work, at the Drummoyne Art Awards + 2 sales. Yippee!

Plus 3 Sales at the Royal Easter Show last week.

I would like to say a big “thank you” to my buyers out there! I appreciate the support you provide for my work and hope you enjoy my art on your walls for years to come!

‘Lets meet at Town Hall’, Commended in Watercolour. Judge’s comments: “Lively and well observed art work”

Busy with Commission works

I have been head down, completing commission pieces of late. Most being framed and given as Christmas presents, which is not far away now!

The below watercolor commission, was sent to the USA last week. Selected from a painting on my online gallery, I repainted the piece, including elements that only the gift giver and receiver would understand. I’m glad to be able to capture a special family memory for them.

A family memory commission, 36cm x 27cm/ 14″ x 10.5″ watercolor

I also have completed the following painting for a client, capturing a loved house and it’s amazing surroundings.

36cm x 27cm/ 14″ x 10.5″ watercolor

I was asked to paint a second version ‘Paradise for Kids’ fundraising piece. Which I also have completed recently.

If you would like to inquire about a commission piece, you can contact me here. I also repaint pieces, currently available. Thank you.

Group Exhibition ‘Artists for Causes’

I was recently involved in a group exhibition ‘Artists for Causes’, fundraising for the charity ‘The Blackdog Institute‘. Here is a quick snap of my display at the show, held in Glenbrook NSW.

Fundraising Commission

I recently was commissioned to do a raw piece of work, which would be donated for a fundraising event for ‘Paradise for Kids’. I was happy to see the painting go to live auction at the event, with the winning bid of $5000 raising much needed funds for P4K (Paradise 4 Kids) and their missionary work in Africa.

Surprises

I had come down from the Springwood Art Show, where it was a treat to see 3 red dots beside my collection of work there. It’s a great feeling as an artist, to think that someone has really liked my work and will have my painting hanging on their walls.:)

I walked in to collect my Penrith Show paintings and a surprise to me – I had won first place in the watercolour section! While talking about the lovely ribbon that you receive, someone pointed out that behind me, was another one of my works, with another prize on it (‘Council Overall Winner of Painting and Drawing’).

That equals 5 surprises in a matter of hours, and therefore resulting in some very happy (and sore) cheeks for the drive home.

August saw the close of the hospital exhibition, ‘Celebrating Life with Watercolours’. Had a couple of sales and took the work down last Friday.

Since my last post, I have completed a number of works. Here are some of them!

That’s a wrap! Well nearly…

This past week saw my last exhibition “shows” for the year. I was happy to sell two paintings over the weekend at the Blue Mountains Artfest and Balmain Art & Craft Show.

The exhibition at the Nepean Hospital has my last paintings on any wall and will come down in mid December.

So, I have been picking up unsold paintings and with the help of friends, when I couldn’t be on two places at once!

Painting flowers and taking evening daylight savings strolls.

And the rest of the week has been all techy! I am working on a separate website and facebook page for my kids art classes and workshops. Wonder over if your interested.
